A Message from the
District Governor...
Dear
Brothers,
I have thoroughly enjoyed serving the past year as the Governor of
District 6. During my past 5 years serving in various capacities on the
District Lodge, I have had the privilege to mentor some of the next
generation of our District leaders. It is with great joy that I see the
Lodge getting more participation from our younger Brothers and working
hard to carry on our traditions and causes. The tireless work and
sacrifice this year’s Lodge has done can not be appreciated enough.
This year’s Lodge helped support many philanthropic causes for our
District and I beam with pride how well we represented our brother
AHEPAns. I made a commitment when I became Governor, to attempt to
visit every chapter. Unfortunately, due to some bad weather we had this
winter, I was only able to visit 23 chapters. I can say that
AHEPA is strong and growing stronger from my viewpoint of my
visitations and the many Chapter events I have gone to. Our website has
helped us communicate and serve our Chapters better than before and has
helped grow our membership.
I am always proud to be an AHEPAn when I see the turnout
and volunteerism at our District 6 events. I can not thank enough the
work done by this Lodge and our District 6 Brothers who have
contributed to the Albany District 6 Fall Conference, the AHEPA Family
Christmas party in Coney Island, the NYC Greek Independence Day parade
and the recent District 6 Golf Tournament in Pelham that benefitted the
Wounded Warriors. Those and the numerous Chapter events I have attended
the past year have proven how strong our Hellenism is throughout our
wonderful District. I will continue to do my best to support our
District to keep the momentum going.
I would like to sincerely thank Brooklyn Chapter 41 for hosting
this year’s convention. I am very excited that you have been
re-energized and hope you continued success in promoting our AHEPAn
ideals and values. You have been one of the many beacons of light this
past year for our District.
As I am finishing up my term, I would like to thank Supreme
President Nick Karacostas, Supreme Vice-President Dr. John Grossamides,
Supreme Governor Teddy Manolios and the rest of the Supreme Lodge whose
tremendous support for our District this past year I have truly valued
and greatly appreciated.
Lastly, to my District 6 Brothers and Lodge, I want to send my
love and thanks for having me serve as your Governor. To the new
District 6 2010 lodge, continued success and keep the momentum going!
