Poughkeepsie Conference

On Saturday May 10th 2008, Gus Drivas, George Demopoulos, Ted Manolios, Paris Karounos, Deme Pamboukes and I spent a beautiful Saturday afternoon, upstate New York. Adding to the list, were visits from PDG Peter Karounos from the Bronx, John Poladouris from Albany and our Supreme Governor Louis Arvanitis, and his visitor no stranger to Poughkeepsie, Brother Tom Pappas. Of course we had brothers from Newburgh, Albany and our hosting brothers of Poughkeepsie. Let me tell you, this is what the AHEPA is all about. Each of my lodge Brothers spoke, while our Lt Governor as always, was our MC for the event, in fact Gus coordinated this with Steve Miller the President of the Poughkeepsie Chapter.

Speaking of Steve Miller, I ask that all that read thes words, stop for a moment and say a prayer for Steve and his family. Ironically and sadly, the morning of the Conference, his Mom passed away. We knew he could not stay long and we accepted that, knowing the heartfelt pain he was feeling. GOD bless the Miller family and we are sure the memory of Steve's Mom, will last forever.
